Here's what you might of missed, plus a glimpse of what I'll be writing in 2026. Includes some survey questions, and an open-ended question about what you think I should cover! (2,200 words)
re: Atheism™, IIRC Chris Hedges' argument about it in “I Don't Believe in Atheists” could basically be boiled down to “I don't know if I believe in God or not, but I believe in sin”. In that he isn't sure if there is a Creator or Deity, but what he does know is that people will remain people, and if there's one thing people are good at, is that they fuck up, do terrible things, and make terrible mistakes. So it's better to have your society with the fallibility of people in mind, and to be suspicious of anyone, of any belief system, that tries to sell you the idea that human nature (that of fallibility and limited-ness) can be overcome or engineered out.
Here's hoping you find success meeting your life and career aims and settling safely in Europe.
I am looking forward to reading the "Four Key Concepts in Existential Health Care Ethics" piece. The climate predicament piece and the piece on your atheistic orientation to current religions are also of particular interest to me.
And don't forget, on top of all your are thinking about, that you indicated you would give us your take on Luke Kemp's book Goliath's Curse. I finished reading it a couple months ago and would like other perspectives on it.
You write pieces that are go-to references on their topics. Thank you, and a Merry Christmas!
You have 69 paid subs. Nice.
LOL! Not long ago, it ws 6-7. :-)
I did the movement intuitively when I read that and now I am considering a lobotomy.
OMG!

Existential healthcare sounds right up my alley.
