Yes! Well not exactly…basically Aries Spears (A Comedian) was being asked about what he thought about the list of 2025’s upcoming rappers, and at one point the conversation went like this:
Interviewer: Gelo aka Liangelo Ball?
Spears: I don’t-
I: You know him though, right?
S: Liangelo? The basketball player?
I: Yeah!
S: He rapping?!
I: Yeah!
S: Nuke the whole generation!
Obviously I just changed some of the words. I though it’d be funny :)
No mention of "insider trading" which is what likely made Leopold Aschenbrenner so particularly successful in short term and is what makes the collapse of his fund so telling about the state of this industry. He was not just betting on broad trends in AI based on a set of broad hypotheses about AI, which many other tried, but doing so presumedly with access to privileged information and with privileged access to capital.
(a) Boycott AI. (b) Educate others. (c) Maybe join a protest? (d) Call representatives in government. (e) ... not sure! Still trying to answer your excellent questions for myself. It's a shame they have so much money and power and we have so little. :-/
👍👍 I've looked into PauseAI, idk if you're familiar? I guess highly-targeted strategic lobbying is the next step. I'm guessing you would caution against moving into the 'AI Safety' field?

I think he's being investigated. We'll see what happens with that. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some malfeasance going on here!
