Odd reaction I had: your posts about TESCREAL and AI are thought provoking, and even when you declare that I am your mortal enemy and that you hate me, I find that all I want to do is engage and better understand you. But, when I see what you find funny? I'm suddenly very okay with your hate, and even feel reciprocal revulsion for you.
Emile articulates and enumerates his disdain very well, but gets little counter argumentation beyond the type of humourless snark which rationalists are famous for and, which you demonstrate here. The whole futurist scene is an easy targets of humour, with their earnest beliefs in strange eschatologies, cultish behaviours and semi-religious pratfalls. Making fun of such things is a ‘baseline’ humane pastime, and a noble tradition. It’s funny to have to point out that comedy serves a purpose, why it’s enjoyed, and what it is for (humility).
So, what makes you laugh, the sight of your own vomit?
Please identify any examples of eschatologies (strange or otherwise), cultish behaviors, or pratfalls (semi-religious or otherwise) in the purportedly humorous examples in this post.
Your lack of perception here is amusing, given the subject of this Substack. With leaders and True believers pushing AGI/superintelligence into every cranny, examples are plentiful, and pleasingly entertaining when their script departs reality
Ah, but crucially, my comment to Mssr Torres was about *this* post, you see. Specifically, the things within it that he found funny. Did the context escape your notice?
That Spectro tweet about Claude refusing... maybe with more context it would make sense, but just from the tweet that user really seems to be badly grasping at straws?
My understanding is that there's a defrost mode, and if this is left on, the refrigerator could continue to heat up until temperatures reach up to 50C or so. But I'm not entirely sure about that, and couldn't find much more info online! (Great question, btw!) Glad you got a good laugh from some of these stories. :-)
My prediction for your anti-TESCREAL institute: since they cannot admit that are a silly sci-fi cult, they will form or have a religious rights organization discredit you as being anti-religious bigots.

This is really not related but why can u raise the temperature of a fridge to 50? I feel like thats an oven?
